Privacy policy

Short version: Paliana sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers. Personal data is processed only when you send us a form or an e-mail.

2. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. within the European Union. When you visit a page, the web server stores the requested address, the date and time, the transferred data volume, the browser type and the IP address in a log file for security purposes. Log files are deleted automatically after a short period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with the hosting provider.

3. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content

Paliana does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising services. Fonts, images, videos and scripts are delivered from our own domain, except the contact form and the newsletter sign-up, which come from formdialog.com, our own form service. No content is loaded from third-party servers when a page opens, so no data reaches other companies through your visit.

4. Precious metal prices

The live prices are fetched by our own server from public market data providers and cached there. For the prices, your browser only ever talks to paliana.com; your IP address is not passed to any price provider.

5. Local storage for the tools

The calculators, finders and the quiz store your last inputs and results in your browser’s local storage so that they are still there when you return. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us and can be deleted at any time through your browser settings.

6. Sharing buttons

The sharing buttons are plain links. Nothing is loaded from a social network until you click a button, after which the respective network’s privacy policy applies. The image cards created by the tools are generated on your device.

7. Valuation requests, jeweler match, partner applications, contact form and newsletter

When you send a valuation request, a jeweler match request or a partner application, we process the details you enter (name, e-mail address and, where provided, telephone number, location, budget, item description and message) to handle your request. The data is stored on our server and sent to our editorial mailbox by e-mail. Valuation and jeweler match requests are forwarded to up to three partner jewelers or buyers who fit your brief, so that they can reply to you directly; we forward only what is needed for a proposal. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR). We keep request data for as long as needed to handle it and for statutory retention periods. Instead of your IP address we store a short, monthly rotating pseudonym to prevent abuse.

The contact form and the newsletter sign-up come from formdialog.com, the form service of NexTao GmbH. It runs on its own server at Hostinger in Frankfurt am Main, sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. With the form it learns on which Paliana page it is shown.

When you write to us through the contact form, we process the details you enter (name, e-mail address, subject, message) to answer your request (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR). The message is delivered to our editorial mailbox by e-mail, stored in the form service and deleted once it is no longer needed. To fend off abuse we keep the IP address of every submission for 14 days (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).

The newsletter uses double opt-in: after signing up you receive an e-mail with a confirmation link, and only the click on it subscribes you. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days. As proof of your consent we store the time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation. Your e-mail address stays on our list until you unsubscribe, which is possible with the link in every issue (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). Contact and newsletter data are not passed on to third parties.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, write to info@paliana.com.
