Privacy policy

Short version: Paliana sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers. Personal data is processed only when you send us a form or an e-mail.

2. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. within the European Union. When you visit a page, the web server stores the requested address, the date and time, the transferred data volume, the browser type and the IP address in a log file for security purposes. Log files are deleted automatically after a short period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure operation of the site (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with the hosting provider.

3. No cookies, no tracking, no third-party content

Paliana does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising services. Fonts, images, videos and scripts are delivered from our own domain. No content is loaded from third-party servers when a page opens, so no data reaches other companies through your visit.

4. Precious metal prices

The live prices are fetched by our own server from public market data providers and cached there. Your browser only ever talks to paliana.com; your IP address is not passed to any price provider.

5. Local storage for the tools

The calculators, finders and the quiz store your last inputs and results in your browser’s local storage so that they are still there when you return. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us and can be deleted at any time through your browser settings.

6. Sharing buttons

The sharing buttons are plain links. Nothing is loaded from a social network until you click a button, after which the respective network’s privacy policy applies. The image cards created by the tools are generated on your device.

7. Valuation requests, jeweler match, partner applications, contact form and newsletter

When you send a valuation request, a jeweler match request, a partner application, the contact form or the newsletter sign-up, we process the details you enter (name, e-mail address and, where provided, telephone number, location, budget, item description and message) to handle your request. The data is stored on our server and sent to our editorial mailbox by e-mail. Valuation and jeweler match requests are forwarded to up to three partner jewelers or buyers who fit your brief, so that they can reply to you directly; we forward only what is needed for a proposal. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 (1) b GDPR) and, for the newsletter, your consent (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR). We keep request data for as long as needed to handle it and for statutory retention periods; you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by e-mail. Instead of your IP address we store a short, monthly rotating pseudonym to prevent abuse.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, write to info@paliana.com.
